Endometriosis, Fibroid and Adenomyosis Specialist in Auckland

Specialist Gynaecologist
Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeon and Sonologist

Focused on complex pelvic pain, fertility and advanced ultrasound diagnosis of endometriosis and adenomyosis

Dr Guy Fisher, specialist gynaecologist in Auckland

I'm Dr Guy Fisher. I'm a specialist gynaecologist and advanced laparoscopic surgeon in Auckland with a focused practice in endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, and complex pelvic pain.

I am the only gynaecologist in New Zealand to have completed both the AGES Advanced Endoscopic Surgery Training Program (AATP) — the highest laparoscopic surgical accreditation in Australasia — and the Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) through the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine. This rare combination means specialist pelvic ultrasound is performed during your consultation by the clinician who will go on to plan and, where needed, perform your surgery.

Surgery is one option among several, and many patients I see don't need it. Specialist ultrasound makes accurate diagnosis possible without diagnostic surgery, and helps me carefully select who will benefit from an operation and who is better managed in other ways.

Conditions I treat

I provide specialist care for a wide range of gynaecological and fertility concerns, including:

  • Endometriosis (including deep and Stage IV disease)

  • Adenomyosis

  • Fibroids (including complex and large fibroids)

  • Pelvic pain - including after previous surgery

  • Heavy, irregular, or painful periods

  • Ovarian cysts and adnexal masses

  • Fertility concerns and assisted reproduction (ovulation induction, IUI, IVF) at Fertility Associates

  • Miscarriage and early pregnancy concerns

Services

Fellowship-trained gynaecologist and fertility specialist

I combine world-class training in ultrasound, fertility, and minimally invasive surgery with a calm, thoughtful approach to care.

This includes:

  • Fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic surgery at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Melbourne (AGES AATP).

  • Fellowship training in gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound at University College London Hospitals.

  • Accreditation as a specialist sonologist (Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound) by the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine.

  • A Master of Reproductive Medicine (with Excellence) from the University of New South Wales.

This rare combination allows me to provide accurate diagnosis, careful planning, and tailored treatment for both routine and complex conditions.
