Communication With GPs

Dr Fisher aims to ensure clear, prompt communication at every step:

  • Acknowledgement of referral

  • Detailed clinic letters outlining assessment & management

  • Ongoing correspondence for procedures or follow-up

In-Consultation Ultrasound

Dr Fisher holds a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) through the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine — a qualification held by very few gynaecologists in New Zealand. This means advanced pelvic ultrasound, including detailed endometriosis mapping, can be performed and interpreted within the consultation itself.

For patients with suspected endometriosis, fibroids, or adenomyosis, this often means:

  • A working diagnosis at the first appointment

  • Reduced need for additional imaging such as MRI

  • Faster progression to a treatment plan or surgical planning

A referral ultrasound is not required before the appointment.

Fertility Integration

Dr Fisher consults at Fertility Associates Auckland and provides integrated care for patients where gynaecological conditions are affecting fertility — including pre-IVF surgical optimisation, endometriosis excision prior to assisted reproduction, and coordinated ongoing management.

Surgical Capability

Dr Fisher holds AGES Level 6 accreditation — the highest laparoscopic surgical tier in Australasia — covering complex and Stage IV endometriosis including disease involving the bowel, bladder, and deep pelvic structures. He is one of a small number of surgeons in New Zealand accredited to operate at this level.

Procedures available include:

  • Laparoscopic excision of endometriosis (all stages including Stage IV and deep infiltrating disease)

  • Laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy

  • Ovarian cystectomy including endometrioma management

  • Caesarean scar niche repair

  • Oophorectomy and salpingectomy

  • Hysteroscopy — polypectomy, myomectomy, septum division, adhesion division (Asherman's syndrome)

  • Early pregnancy surgical management
