Early Pregnancy Bleeding or Pain

When something doesn’t feel right in early pregnancy

 When to seek urgent care

If you have not yet had an ultrasound and you are experiencing:

  • Significant pain

  • Heavy bleeding

  • Dizziness, shoulder pain, or feeling faint

you should seek urgent medical care or attend an Emergency Department, as these can be signs of an ectopic pregnancy or internal bleeding.

I am able to see patients who:

  • Have already had an ultrasound, or

  • Have been referred directly by their GP for specialist assessment

This helps ensure care is provided safely and in the right setting.

Expert early pregnancy assessment

My fellowship training at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) involved managing large numbers of women with:

  • Bleeding in early pregnancy

  • Ectopic pregnancy

  • Pregnancy of unknown location

  • Early miscarriage

Using advanced ultrasound and careful clinical assessment, I can determine:

  • Whether a pregnancy is developing normally

  • Whether it is in the right place

  • Whether monitoring, treatment, or urgent care is needed

How I can help

I provide specialist early pregnancy care that combines advanced imaging, careful decision-making, and compassionate support — helping you navigate a very uncertain time with clarity and safety.
