Hysteroscopy in Auckland
Precise assessment and treatment inside the uterus
A hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows the inside of the uterus to be examined using a fine camera (a hysteroscope). It is commonly used to investigate and treat abnormal bleeding, infertility, miscarriage, or changes seen on pelvic ultrasound.
It is also used to remove endometrial polyps and submucosal fibroids, as well as to divide adhesions, which can interfere with bleeding patterns, fertility, and implantation.
A targeted, minimally invasive procedure
Hysteroscopy provides direct visualisation of the uterine cavity, allowing greater accuracy than ultrasound alone. Because the instruments are small and the procedure is focused, discomfort is usually minimal and recovery is quick.
Where treatment is needed, it can often be performed at the same time, avoiding the need for multiple procedures.
Fellowship-trained hysteroscopic care
My surgical training includes the AGES-accredited Advanced Endoscopic Surgery Training Program (AATP), which I completed at The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.
This specialised fellowship focuses on advanced minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, including complex hysteroscopic procedures. For you, this means greater precision, safer treatment, and a lower risk of incomplete or repeat procedures.
When hysteroscopy is helpful
Hysteroscopy may be recommended if you are experiencing:
Recurrent miscarriage
Abnormal findings on pelvic ultrasound
We will always discuss whether hysteroscopy is the right option for you, what it involves, and what alternatives may be available.
Planned with clarity
My training in advanced pelvic ultrasound allows careful planning before hysteroscopy, so the procedure is targeted and appropriate.
You’ll understand why it is being recommended, what it involves, and what outcome we are aiming for.
